"WELCOME TO SEXPO INTERNATIONAL" the black and white banners at the front of the convention hall proclaim. The halls are filled with people milling about from booth to booth and room to room, and there’s plenty to see and do…. Your destination, however, is floor 3, where the BDSM exhibits are being hosted. Whether you’re new to the scene, were invited by a friend, are someone looking to spice up their bedroom life, simply one of the curious, or even a veteran to the BDSM lifestyle, there’s something here for everyone.

The Orange Hall hosts live shows on stage for an audience. You can watch a woman ride her "horse," a man play with his "puppy," and clothing restrictions are just a few of the popular exhibitions. Of course the performers here are veterans who know just what they’re doing—in fact, it could be you under those bright spotlights. In the evening, this room turns into a "ball room," but this masquerade is a little different than any you may have seen before. Full body leather suits, corsets and chastity belts are part of the dress-code, and couples where one partner is led on a leash, blindfolded, or gagged are not at all uncommon.

The Yellow Hall behind that hosts shows of a different sort that encourage audience participation. Here less experienced members can mingle for "amateur hour" shows, or be picked by lottery to participate with a more experienced partner. Ever wanted to learn to tie those ropes or paddle someone to pleasure or dirty talk? This is the place for you.

The Fuschia Hall is the dealer’s room. Feast your eyes on a plethora of tools that you can buy or rent: stockades, paddles, whips, ropes and chains, just to name a few. Not everything is so serious: some items are almost gag-like or innocent, like fuzzy handcuffs, collars with dog tags, and silk blindfolds, but you’ll also find sex swings, cattle prods, top of the line restraint systems and a range of sex toys designed to test the very physical limitations of your body. If you want to try before you buy, though, the shop owners are usually fairly accommodating, and can either be convinced to give you a hand (or a foot or a boot) or let you and you partner other try it out.

Step back out to the main hallway that wraps around Orange Hall (marked in light pink on your handy map), and you’ll find the "Artist’s Alley" of the expo. Here you'll find artists of the mind and body, and they’re here to help you make your fantasies come true. Whether you’re looking for human furniture, a trainer, tatooist or piercer, there’s probably someone there who can help you make your fantasies reality. Whether you just spend some time in the Artist's Alley or you end up making it a lasting thing is up to you.

Convention Halls Violet, Green, Aqua, and Blue are smaller rooms meant to host more private affairs for those who don’t feel up to exhibitionism. They’re also equipped to handle more "exotic" kinks, like male chastity, wax and candle play, electric play, a dungeon for knife play and sexual torture, and other thrilling games not meant for the faint-of-heart. The Red Hall has been divided into multiple sections which are decorated to resemble public areas—a park, a grocery store, even a public bathroom. And in the very corner you'll find the Gold Hall for those individuals and couples looking for something just a little more domestic to test out whether or not this is really for them. The room is set up to look like a house complete with a working bathroom, and you and your significant other or an artist from the alley can experiment to your heart’s content with any variety of scenarios.

For those shy few who might still feel a bit too inhibited to give in to their true desires even in good company, though, there’s staff passing out a special, blue complimentary drink at the bar and the front door to every exhibit. Courage Booster, it’s called, and that’s exactly what it’ll do for you. So just relax, let go, and have a good time; that’s what everyone’s here for.

This post is for BDSM play, with the twist that it is a completely consensual scenario. That is, subs and masochists are just as on-board for this as their dom and sadist partners, even if that means that you, as the writer, need to make your character slightly AU to do so.
